The way the books were organized when I got them was a mess, but I don't think there are so much duplicates. There are thousands of books with duplicates. Using this plug-in, I discovered that these unreadable entries usually have readable duplicates. I installed this plug-in to find duplicates. Anyway, when I double-click on an entry in this list, it opens in a pop-up Calibre-reader and I can read the book, yay! Then I select this one folder where all the ebooks are stored in. So to add the books I clicked on the arrow and used the third option, where there are multiple books allowed per folder.
